Pinatar Arena has become during the month of March 2017 the first Spanish Football Center to host teams from up to 5 continents. The Australia U21 national team has spent their training camp in the complex from San Pedro del Pinatar, thus becoming the first team from Oceania to visit the facility.
Since its opening in January 2013, Pinatar Arena has hosted pre-season training camps and friendly matches of club and national teams from across Europe. Very soon from South America arrived the national team of Chile and from Africa - Algeria and Congo.
Asia made its debut at Pinatar Arena in January 2013 with the stage of Shanghai East Asia and had significantly increased it’s numbers this past winter with other 4 Chinese and 3 South Korean teams.
With the arrival of the Australian national team, led by Josep Gombau, Pinatar Arena goes one step further and becomes the first Spanish center to host football from 5 different continents. Including Australia, Pinatar Arena has already hosted club and national teams from up to 65 different countries.
